Castle, Franklin, North Hardin, and O'Fallon. Nice top bands going. Not to mention the last few spots for finals will be pretty competitive.

The Castle/Franklin/North Hardin combo of the last few years with O'Fallon thrown into the mix, who can say no to that??

Siegel, Russell County, F.J. Reitz, Mill Creek, Camdenton, Central Hardin, Desoto Central, Lindbergh, Page, Farragut, Rock Bridge, Paragould, Union City, & Clinton make for a massive block of groups that create yet another strong Clarksville regional. All good bands, many of whom will be left out of finals.

If Russell County has a season like 2016, they could certainly turn some heads here. They did end up making Indy finals that year and were by far the smallest band that made finals.

Will be interesting to see how Jackson County does this year. After they made finals at the Atlanta super in 2016 they seemed to have a comparatively down year in 2017.

Kyle Young has also judged Texas competitions in past years.

There is certainly a bit of hype surrounding Franklin this year it seems and it might well be justified. Iím not in love with Castleís show this year so Franklin could get close and maybe take a caption or so (most likely music). I havenít seen anything from OíFallon yet but if itís anything like last year it might be a show better suited for a dome environment.

O'Fallon's Show is a "sequel" to last years show. Having seen it once a few weeks ago, it is very similar. I would say it is probably more suited for a dome environment. But they also didn't have all of their props yet along with only performing about half their show. I also had the pleasure of seeing Belleville East at O'Fallon's competition and they were very good too. Tying with Fort Zumwalt North and beating Lindbergh. Probably still a bottom half of Finals spot, but definitely in the hunt for a finals spot. They placed within about 5 points of O'Fallon this past weekend at a local competition and one judge even scored them higher in music performance. Of course that is an early season competition. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Yes! Belleville East is definitely going hard at it this year! However, we shouldn't forget that Belleville East scored within 5 points of O'Fallon last year, and also beat them in multiple sub-captions; and we saw how that turned out. In addition, Franklin is making a huge comeback this year, and North Hardin is a force to be reckoned with (I wouldn't be surprised if North Hardin came close to making finals at GN or even makes finals). O'Fallon seems to have a better grasp of their musical performance this year, and their visual is surprisingly sophisticated. Castle is great once again, and their show is unusually contemporary (for them, at least).
